Job Description
A large school district North of Denver's metro area is looking to bring on an Inventory and Supply Chain Coordinator. This person will support the Nutrition department exclusively.
Job Overview
This role focuses on managing USDA food programs, vendor coordination, compliance, and financial oversight for Nutrition Services. It requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. USDA Food Coordination
- Oversee all USDA food programs, including dairy, and fresh produce.
- Manage site-to-site ordering and delivery processes.
2. Inventory & Forecasting
- Track inventory levels, delivery schedules, and product availability.
Calculate annual forecasts and usage for USDA foods (pounds vs. dollars).
- Handle overages and carry-over pounds for USDA foods.
3. Financial Duties
- Assist with financial analysis and annual budget development.
- Complete month-end financial tasks.
- Compile and process catering invoices monthly.
4. Operational Support
- Serve as backup for Nutrition Services' Specialist and Operations Manager for invoice reconciliation and delivery coordination.
5. Food Safety & Compliance
- Coordinate food recalls, including communication plans and manufacturer reporting.
- Ensure compliance with USDA programs and district policies.
6. Specifications & Procurement
- Develop specifications for food products, equipment, and supplies aligned with federal programs (NSLP, SBP, CACFP, Afterschool Snack).
- Place daily vendor orders and evaluate purchase requests for compliance.
- Assist with formal procurement processes: drafting terms, scoring bids, and analyzing awards.
7. Additional Duties
- Support district purchasing for food and non-food items.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related area. Four years of relevant experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Minimum of five (5) years government purchasing experience, and/or contract administration experience.
- Team player/focused - Education industry work.
- True "buyer" experience to aide in work
- Work in nutrition distribution
