Job Description
Insight Global is looking for Clinical Pharmacy Manager to support the infusion center at a large academic hospital center in Washington, DC. The Manager will oversee the daily operations of their oncology pharmacy services. They will be responsible for managing a team of 7 pharmacists and 4 pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices in medication management. Your role will be vital to optimizing patient outcomes through effective medication therapy management, investigational drug therapy, and collaboration with the oncology care team.
Primary Duties:
Assists in the development of and monitors quality of clinical information and pharmacy interventions formulated by clinical and patient care pharmacists.
Develops guidance for and delivers as appropriate education programs via in-services lectures newsletters or rounds to various healthcare professionals and patients.
Interviews and assists in selection of candidates for all professional staff positions in accordance with personnel policies and departmental requirements.
Interviews and assists in selection of candidates for clinical positions in accordance with personnel policies and departmental requirements.
Participates in the development of policies and procedures to assure compliance with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Performs ongoing assessment development and implementation of clinical programs for the health system.
Provides oversight to clinical and patient care pharmacists who are responsible for proactively reviewing and assessing medication regimens or therapeutic issues which affect the pharmaceutical care of the patients.
Provides oversight to clinical and patient care pharmacists who monitor drug therapy to assure that appropriate recommendations concerning pharmaceutical care plans are based on patient needs.
Provides oversight to clinical pharmacists who act as a drug information resource for daily clinical interventions by staff.
Supervises clinical pharmacists and oversees activities of patient care pharmacists in performing duties associated with clinical programs.
Under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacy Services participates in the development of departmental budgets and has the authority to implement pharmacy resource utilization expense or revenue controls.
Under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacy Services performs the ongoing review monitoring and the optimization of the value based outcome metrics for safety quality service productivity and fiscal objectives. Has the authority to co-sign or approve pharmaceutical purchase orders invoices and payroll submittals.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
Education:
Pharm.D. (2 years post-graduate Pharm.D. or equivalent) preferred
Experience:
3-4 years experience as a clinical pharmacist in ambulatory or inpatient infusion
3-4 years BCPS residency
Minimum 1 year in leadership (could be a supervisor looking for growth)
Licenses and Certifications:
Licensure in the District of Columbia (D.C.)
Knowledge:
Sterile Compounding Guidelines (certification isn't required but they need to have general understanding of sterile compounding, specifically USP 797 (non-hazardous) and USP 800 (hazardous).

Leadership qualities
The expectation is for this person to be on system committees, be clinically strong, drive practice change and elevate service line, etc. Licenses and Certifications:
