    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Operations Technician with the capability and technical maturity to step into a lead-level role supporting F‑16 Mission Tactics Trainer (MTT) simulators. Prior leadership experience is not required—this role is ideal for an experienced technician who is ready to move into a working‑lead position while still remaining deeply hands-on. This position supports high‑fidelity F‑16 training devices used by the Air National Guard. The technician will work onsite at Hill AFB and collaborate closely with the site’s technical leadership structure. Candidates must be local to the Hill AFB area or willing to relocate. The technician will report to a remote lead technician, who reports to the program manager.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Leadership & Coordination

     

    - Serve as a working lead for daily simulator operations and maintenance tasks.

     

    - Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and ensuring coverage for operational hours.

     

    - Provide input on contractor performance and support onboarding and training of new technical staff.

     

    - Support a collaborative, safety-focused work environment aligned with base requirements.

     

    Technical Operations

     

    - Perform operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of F‑16 simulator systems and subsystems.

     

    - Support daily readiness checks, startup/shutdown procedures, initialization, and Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities.

     

    - Diagnose complex hardware, software, electronic, and network issues.

     

    - Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to simulators and aviation systems.

     

    - Execute advanced diagnostics using electronic testing equipment and software tools.

     

    - Apply system updates, modifications, and corrective actions as required.

     

    - Document technical actions, performance results, and maintenance activities.

    Compensation:

    $57.69/hr to $64.90/hr.

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - High School diploma + 13 years relevant experience,

     

    OR Bachelor’s + 9 years,

     

    OR Master’s + 7 years.

     

    - Active Secret security clearance.

     

    - Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification prior to start.

     

    - Strong troubleshooting skills across electronics, networks, and simulation technologies.

     

    - Ability to interpret and work from aviation/simulator technical documents.

     

    - Experience with F‑16 simulators OR similar military training devices.

     

    - Experience with aircraft maintenance, avionics, or similar technical systems.
