    Job Title: Machine Operator - Glue Pot and Roller Positioning

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to manage the glue application process on paperboard by positioning rollers and operating machinery effectively. This role involves ensuring smooth machine operations, inspecting products for quality, and maintaining efficient workflow in the finishing area.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and monitor glue pot machines to apply adhesive accurately onto paperboard.

    + Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and inspect cartons for flaws.

    + Make mechanical adjustments on machines as needed.

    + Coordinate with Finishing Helpers to ensure all glue lines are adequately staffed.

    + Verify and stock the Finishing area with necessary supplies, coordinating with Purchasing.

    + Train Finishing Helpers and Finishing Operator Assistants.

    + Submit repair requests using Maintenance Connection.

    + Complete Daily Management boards, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans.

    + Perform duties of a Finishing Helper during staff shortages, including feeding cartons into machines, communicating with operators, and ensuring quality control.

    + Clear machine jams and verify pallet labels for accuracy.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in production and machine operation.

    + Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

    + Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.

    + Capability to write routine reports and communicate effectively, with English/Spanish bilingualism as a plus.

    + Basic arithmetic skills and ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

    + Strong reasoning skills to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

    + Basic mechanical aptitude.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with cutting machinery similar to Sheet fed cutting equipment, such as the person 162 CER, 1600 ER, 103, and 126-BMA.

    Work Environment

     

    This role involves working in a 24/7 facility with about 170 employees. You must be able to work any shift, including 12-hour shifts, six days a week. The environment is not climate-controlled, and steel toe boots are required. The company provides gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses to ensure safety.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenixville, PA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.68 - $21.68/hr.
