Job Title: Machine Operator - Bakery** **Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and changing over food processing equipment to make pizzas. In the bakery department, candidates primarily operate mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers. They will switch between operating a mixer, filler, and grinding machine, working in teams of 3-4.

Responsibilities

+ Operate grinding machine to process cauliflower into fine material and mix with other ingredients to create dough.

+ Read and interpret batch tickets to prepare dough.

+ Weigh ingredients and add specific amounts of raw materials and starches to each batch.

+ Operate tumblers to mix materials with specific starches, flour, and eggs as needed.

+ Monitor and adjust equipment on the line, including mixers, fillers, ovens, presses, baggers, and cartoners.

+ Perform visual and quality inspections, ensuring GMP standards are met.

+ Handle sanitation of all machinery, including wiping down and clearing jams.

+ Utilize hand and power tools for basic repairs.

+ Lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Essential Skills

+ Experience working within a foods GMP environment.

+ Proficient in machine operation, including making adjustments and clearing jams.

+ Experience with baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ GMP experience.

+ Bilingual skills are a plus.

Work Environment

Candidates will work on the production floor within the toppings department. The facility is organized into a colder toppings side and a warmer bakery side, with ambient temperatures between 40°F and 45°F. Work is Monday to Saturday, with Saturdays being mandatory if scheduled. The environment is fast-paced, clean, and organized, with a team of around 100 people per shift. Safety shoes and protective gear, including smocks, hairnets, beard nets, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety glasses, are required. Activities include packing, stacking, sweeping, lifting up to 50 lbs, and loading ingredients.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
