Job Title: Assembly Technician** **Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician for the 2nd shift from 2:00 pm to 12:30 am, Monday through Thursday. This position involves working overtime on Fridays and possibly Saturdays twice a month. The role requires expertise in assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies according to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements.
+ Complete required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
+ Set up and run various shop equipment, including squeezes and precision measuring tools such as drill motors and countersink cutters.
+ Troubleshoot any problems that occur and continually seek process improvements.
+ Perform any necessary rework or changes during the assembly process.
+ Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and smaller bench work assemblies.
+ Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ One to two years of related experience and/or training.
+ Experience with basic sheet metal, riveting, and assembly methods.
+ Ability to interpret blueprints.
+ Strong time management skills.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Six months of vocational training.
+ Experience in complex assembly and structures mechanics.
+ Familiarity with equipment such as forklifts, drill presses, floor-mounted rivet presses, and overhead cranes.
+ Preferred experience with Spirit/Boeing/Textron/Cessna.

Work Environment
You will be working full-time in a climate-controlled environment, exposed to vibration and occasionally to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level is usually loud, and employees are expected to wear steel toe boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
