    Job Title: Carpenter** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled carpenter responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using various materials, including wood and steel. The role involves self-performing all aspects of carpentry, including rough, finish, steel stud, and cabinet work. Projects span across Wisconsin and out of state, primarily focusing on commercial construction sites like retail stores.

    Responsibilities

    + Build, install, and repair structures using materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.

    + Estimate dimensions like height, width, and length accurately.

    + Read and interpret blueprints or follow instructions from supervisors.

    + Utilize tools such as chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders for construction tasks.

    + Join materials using nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.

    + Ensure work meets code and specifications by checking throughout the process.

    + Use leveling and measuring tools to ensure precision and security in structures.

    + Install cabinets, molding, partitions, doors, and windows.

    + Create structures necessary for pouring concrete.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-5 years of experience in commercial carpentry, validated by references.

    + Proficiency in reading blueprints and using carpentry tools.

    + Ability to work with various materials like wood and steel.

    + Skill in installing and finishing carpentry elements.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Reliable transportation to job sites.

    + Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, including out-of-state travel.

    + Experience with commercial construction projects.

    + Commitment to safety and quality standards.

    Work Environment

    Work outdoors in various weather conditions, typically in teams of 6-8, occasionally expanding to 14-16 members. Adhere to a dress code of steel toe boots and pants, with necessary PPE like hard hats provided. Work hours generally from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential overtime and shifts adjusted per site requirements.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $39.00/hr.
