Job Title: Lead Carpenter
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to join our team, specializing in traveling to commercial and prebuilt residential houses for installations. The role requires expertise in trim carpentry and rough framing. This position involves collaborating with teams of 3-4 members and demands travel of up to 2 hours per day, typically within 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Candidates must bring basic tools, such as a hammer and tape measure, while all other equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Responsibilities
+ Travel to commercial and residential sites for installations.
+ Perform trim carpentry and rough framing tasks.
+ Collaborate effectively with a team of 3-4 members.
+ Install windows in high-level residential and commercial builds.
+ Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and OSHA fall protection procedures.
+ Communicate field issues and areas of improvement effectively.
+ Support team members and demonstrate leadership.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of carpentry experience.
+ Proficiency in trim and rough carpentry.
+ Ability to read a tape measure.
+ High attention to detail.
+ Experience in window installation, construction, assembly, and finish carpentry.
+ Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certification in scissor lift operation is a plus.
+ Experience in mechanical assembly, cabinetry, door installation, and sealing.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and work with metal studs.
+ Effective communication skills and ability to manage customer expectations.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times a day.
+ Comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.

Work Environment
Start your day by meeting at the shop and then proceed to your assigned project sites. Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors, primarily involving window installations. The company provides a supportive and collaborative team environment, with a focus on safety and adherence to company guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
