Job Title: Field Service Technician III
Job Description
As a Field Service Technician III, you will specialize in supporting our unique solutions by providing top-notch customer support and frequently traveling as required. You will collaborate with customers, engineers, and team members to conduct on-site inspections, maintenance, and repair of critical electro-hydraulic equipment within the Marine industry and shipyard facilities. Your role will be pivotal in estimating complex technical quotations, addressing engineering issues across all product lines, and offering technical assistance both via telephone and onsite.
Responsibilities
+ Perform on-site service and warranty functions as requested by the customer.
+ Conduct failure analysis on warranty and service calls, and coordinate with engineering personnel to determine the cause of malfunctions.
+ Test electrical and programmable components, assemblies, and systems based on established criteria.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions, and communicate requirements to craftsmen under supervision.
+ Provide detailed time, trip, and expense reports in a timely manner.
+ Ensure that all service and maintenance requirements are complete before leaving the customer's facility.
+ Advise customers on any additional items that may require replacement or repair and offer advice on spare parts procurement.
+ Operate required systems and test equipment safely, maintaining a neat work area.
+ Comply with all federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in a similar fast-paced environment.
+ Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and ability to work to NAVSEA work specification.
+ Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and marking up blueprints and other technical drawings.
+ Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain security access to military installations, ships, and commercial shipyards.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Strong troubleshooting abilities and capability to generate condition reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with US Navy heavy machinery.
+ Experience working with mechanical or heavy industrial equipment.
+ Ability to function within the working conditions of a shipyard.

Work Environment
Work will be performed at the shop, all shipyards, and all Navy bases in San Diego, CA.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of National City, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
