    Job Description

    This position involves hand MIG welding, as well as setting up and operating robotic and automated spot welding equipment. The role encompasses both high volume and low volume tasks, and the type of welds varies by part number, including water-tight welds and fluorescent testing. The individual will be responsible for welding 80-100 smaller panel enclosures daily, involving repetitive tasks such as welding pre-fabricated structures, spot welding hardware into enclosures, and operating an automated robotic welding machine. Most work involves manual MIG Pulse welding on 12 gauge mild steel.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform hand MIG welding and operate robotic and automated spot welding equipment.

    + Execute a combination of high volume and low volume welding tasks.

    + Produce water-tight welds and conduct fluorescent testing as required.

    + Weld 80-100 smaller panel enclosures daily.

    + Engage in repetitive tasks including welding pre-fabricated structures and spot welding hardware into enclosures.

    + Run an automated robotic welding machine.

    + Focus primarily on manual MIG Pulse welding on 12 gauge mild steel.

    Essential Skills

    + 2-3 years of MIG welding experience.

    + 1+ year of experience in blueprint reading and tape measure use.

    + Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs throughout the day.

    + High school diploma or GED.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Some experience in TIG welding is preferred, but not required.

    + Flexibility to learn robotic welding and other related skills.

A four-year apprenticeship program is available for those aspiring to become journeyman sheet metal workers. Primarily seeking 2nd shift welders with the option for 1st shift based on experience. 2nd shift hours are from 3:30 pm to 2 am, Monday through Thursday, with a $2/hr shift differential.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
