Job Title: Batch Mixer** **Job Description
As a Batch Mixer, you will be responsible for preparing and formulating chemical mixtures, ensuring accuracy in weighing raw materials, and operating various machinery. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of the production process by attending daily safety meetings, following standard operating procedures, and keeping detailed records. This role requires working with batches of up to 4000 gallons and involves handling materials in various forms such as liquids and powders.
Responsibilities
+ Attend daily safety meetings to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
+ Receive and follow batch sheets to formulate chemicals accurately.
+ Weigh out raw materials and handle them from drums, totes, and bags.
+ Pour and place materials into reactors, checking gauges and controls.
+ Monitor running machinery such as pumps, mixers, and milling machines.
+ Notify maintenance immediately if any issues arise with machinery.
+ Perform housekeeping duties while machines are running or after completing batches.
+ Communicate batch records with the next shift and supervisors.
+ Work alongside a helper to ensure they understand basic job duties and safety.
+ Be flexible in assisting with packaging, staging, and preparing orders.
Essential Skills
+ 3 years of manufacturing experience.
+ 3 years of experience in blending, formulating, chemical operating, and batch mixing.
+ Experience in chemical or pharmaceutical industries preferred over food industries.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Work Environment
The Alsip facility is a modern, clean, and temperature-controlled environment, known for its exceptional organization and focus on safety. It houses a smaller workforce with fewer production lines. The Chicago Heights facility, although not as new, maintains a high standard of cleanliness and organization with a larger workforce and more production lines. Both facilities operate in temperature-controlled environments and ensure the safety of employees with non-hazardous chemicals. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.20 - $22.20/hr.
