Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description

Join our dynamic machine shop team to fabricate parts essential for pressure vessel manufacturing. As a machinist, you will expertly operate a variety of machines including manual mills, lathes, and vertical turning lathes, as well as a 2.5 axis drill. Your role includes maintaining a clean work environment by managing metal shavings and performing preventative maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Fabricate various parts for pressure vessel manufacturing.

+ Utilize a 2.5 axis drill for part manufacturing.

+ Operate manual mills and lathes.

+ Manage the vertical turning lathe operations.

+ Ensure cleanliness of the shop by removing metal shavings.

+ Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in both manual and CNC machining using mills, lathes, and a 2.5 axis drill.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with quality inspection and tolerance checks using calipers and micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Minimum of 2 years experience in operating or machining.

+ Strong blueprint reading skills.

+ Expertise in tolerance checks utilizing micrometers.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled metal fabrication environment, with a commitment to flexibility for family schedules. Peak seasons in July and December require 50-hour work weeks. Training hours are Monday to Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 6 am to 3:30 pm. Regular work hours are Monday to Thursday from 5:30 pm to 6 am, and Friday from 4:30 pm to 11:30 pm, with occasional Saturday shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr.
