Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic - Aviation** **Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Structures Mechanics or Sheet Metal Mechanics to perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, as well as varied drilling and riveting operations on aircraft. The role involves ensuring compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications, while also adhering to safety and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft under general supervision.
+ Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
+ Use blueprints to cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
+ Shape and form complex angles and configurations using proper tooling according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information.
+ Operate shop equipment such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions.
+ Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, and use personal protective equipment as required.
+ Ensure aircraft interior is protected (PTP) and assist in monthly 5S audits.
+ Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
+ Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of Sheet Metal/Structure Modification Experience.
+ Experience with aircraft such as King Airs and Cessna doing Heavy Maintenance and Starlink Mods.
+ Proficiency in operating shop equipment like brakes, presses, and riveting equipment.
+ Ability to use blueprints for cutting and forming plastics.
+ Experience with corporate aircraft such as Cessna, Jet, CRJ, Falcon, Hawker, Bombardier, Challenger, Phenom, Citation, and King Air.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 1+ years of Sheet Metal fabrication experience is a huge plus.
+ Corporate Aircraft Experience is highly desirable.
+ Must have own tools.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large MRO facility where you will work as part of large teams. Available shifts include a 2nd shift from Monday to Thursday (4pm-2:30am) and a Weekend shift from Friday to Sunday (6am-6:30pm, 3/12's). Employees need to have their own tools.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statesville, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
