Job Title: General Manager** **Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in manufacturing management. The GM will oversee production, supply chain, quality assurance, maintenance, and administrative functions, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

+ Ensure optimal utilization of equipment, materials, and labor to meet production targets.

+ Implement and monitor KPIs to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.

+ Manage and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment.

+ Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies aligned with company goals.

+ Identify growth opportunities, modern technologies, and process improvements to maintain competitiveness.

+ Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

+ Prepare and manage annual budgets for operations and capital expenditures.

+ Monitor financial performance, control costs, and ensure profitability targets are achieved.

+ Analyze financial data to support decision-making and operational adjustments.

+ Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and staff to foster a high-performance culture.

+ Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional growth.

+ Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization.

+ Maintain compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

+ Oversee quality assurance programs to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.

+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.

+ Prepare cost estimates for custom and standard products.

+ Review and respond to product question emails from Shopify when needed.

+ Understand and manage the customer order entry processes.

+ Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Essential Skills

+ Degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or related field (MBA preferred).

+ Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership roles, with at least 5 years in senior management.

+ Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

+ Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.

+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.

+ Exceptional communication and people skills.

+ Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Lean Manufacturing background.

+ Kaizen or Six Sigma preferred.

+ Continuous Improvement (CI) experience.

Work Environment

The manufacturing plant is relatively small, equipped with modern equipment that is less than two and a half years old. It is a climate-controlled environment, ensuring comfort and efficiency during work hours. The role follows a 1st shift schedule from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
