    Job Title: Refrigeration Technician

    Job Description

    As a Refrigeration Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and scheduled maintenance of walk-in coolers, reach-in refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and other related products. You will work with various refrigeration and cooler brands such as True, Krown Tonka, Kramer, XDX, Bohn, McCall, Heatcraft, Russell, and Master Built. The role involves troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field, repairing and recovering refrigeration systems, and brazing during repairs. You will operate in diverse environments including bars/restaurants, commercial buildings with refrigeration, beer distributors, and gas stations.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, inspect, and troubleshoot refrigeration components such as compressors, evaporators, and condensers.

    + Travel throughout the state of Michigan to provide service.

    + Conduct troubleshooting of refrigeration equipment failures, maintain stock levels, and replace worn seals, outer shells, and motors.

    + Perform brazing during repairs.

    + Provide service to over 200 Taco Bell locations nationally, as well as various restaurants and kitchens.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems.

    + Proficiency in servicing commercial refrigeration equipment and walk-in coolers.

    + Knowledge of R-410A and new A2L refrigerants.

    + Possession of a refrigeration license.

    + Competency in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.

    + EPA certification, including universal EPA certification.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with R-22, R-454B refrigerants.

    + Understanding of A2L classified refrigerants like R32, R-454B, and R-1234yf.

    + Knowledge of A1 classified refrigerants such as HFC R-407C and HFC R-410A.

    + Proficiency with tools such as vacuum pumps, leak detectors, 4-way manifold gauges, and refrigeration wrenches.

    Work Environment

     

    You will work from 6/7am to 5pm with on-call rotation from 4pm Friday to 4pm the following Friday. The service area extends from Midland, MI down to Toledo, OH and from Ann Arbor/Lansing to the Thumb. The role includes service to various restaurants and kitchens, with a focus on maintaining a professional appearance.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Swartz Creek, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
