    Job Title: TRAVEL CNC Machinist - Located outside of Chicago, IL

    Job Description

    We are experiencing significant growth and are seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our dynamic team. This facility is responsible for the R&D and mass production of the Aerospace, Military, and Defense industries.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and maintain 5-Axis CNC machines, specifically vertical milling machines.

    + Perform complex blueprint interpretations to ensure precise machining of components.

    + Utilize machine controls such as Fanuc or Heidenhain for efficient operation.

    + Program or edit G-Code to achieve desired machining outcomes.

    + Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.

    + Work with various materials including alloys, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.

    + Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-4 years of experience performing setups/operation on 3-4 axis CNC machinery (either Vertical Milling and/or Horizontal Milling).

    + Ability to utilize Fanuc controls to perform setups and make edits to G and M code.

    + Understanding of the process of GD&T (Geometric Dimension & Tolerance).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience performing setups and/or operating Makino T1.

    + Ability to machine titanium.

    + Experience in machining for the Aerospace, Military, and Defense industries.

    + Education or training in CNC machining.

    Work Environment

     

    Our facility is clean and climate-controlled with around 100 CNC machines across three facilities on the campus. We maintain ITAR compliance and have an open-door policy, allowing employees to work collaboratively and ask questions within each department. The work schedule is 2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 2:30am, with overtime currently at about 10 hours a week. We provide a per diem for traveling machinists.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
