Job Title: Janitor** **Job Description

The role involves cleaning hospital rooms, primarily focusing on sanitizing rooms between patient discharges. This position requires substantial walking, so comfort with being on your feet all day is essential. Duties include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning spills, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces as needed.

Responsibilities

+ Clean and sanitize hospital rooms between patient discharges.

+ Wipe down equipment and surfaces.

+ Empty trash bins and dispose of waste.

+ Sweep and mop floors.

+ Dust all surfaces to maintain cleanliness.

+ Respond to and clean up spills promptly.

+ Use hospital-issued iPhones to receive assignments and access cleaning tutorials.

+ Familiarize with the hospital floor plan quickly.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with smartphone technology.

+ Ability to walk and be on feet for extended periods.

+ Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or janitorial duties.

+ Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous janitorial experience in healthcare is preferred.

+ Willingness to transition from manufacturing or distribution to healthcare.

+ GED/diploma preferred.

+ Ability to pass a robust background check.

Work Environment

The environment is very fast-paced, being the #1 trauma center, which may expose employees to challenging situations. Employees will work a rotating schedule, including every other weekend and major holidays. The process for onboarding includes a delay in badge issuance, requiring patience. The role demands resilience and the ability to adapt quickly.

This is a Contract position based out of Lewistown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
