Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment according to blueprints, schematic drawings, and manufacturer’s specifications. You will diagnose malfunctions, service, and replace defective parts, and perform routine maintenance on production machinery to ensure optimal operation.

Responsibilities

+ Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with blueprints and manufacturer’s specifications.

+ Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery and equipment.

+ Service, repair, and replace defective parts using hand and power tools.

+ Ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment to prevent on-the-job injuries.

+ Maintain sanitary conditions while performing duties.

+ Calibrate and adjust production machinery to improve operational capabilities.

+ Provide technical assistance in the setup and changeover of production equipment.

+ Perform preventive maintenance and document tasks in maintenance records.

+ Identify and implement improvements in production methods.

+ Modify machinery and equipment to enhance functional performance.

+ Collaborate with outside vendors and the Engineering Department to improve maintenance programs.

+ Maintain and service external components of the dust collection system.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices.

+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and operation manuals.

+ Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and piping systems.

+ Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.

+ Strong communication skills for training new mechanics and operators.

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Forklift certification within 60 days of starting the job.

+ Prior industrial maintenance experience is helpful.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of industrial machinery operation and parts.

+ Understanding of occupational hazards and safety rules.

+ Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

+ Hands-on ability in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and mechanical maintenance.

+ On-site training specific to job responsibilities will be provided.

Work Environment

Work hours are from 11:15 pm to 7:45 am. The role requires working on your feet for 8-10 hours a day and being open to overtime. The work involves operating various machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks in an industrial setting.
