    Job Title: Welder

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Welder to join a unionized metal stamping company. You will be responsible for performing MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, contributing to products used in the rail industry. This role offers competitive hourly rates and opportunities for overtime on both first and second shifts.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum components.

    + Read and interpret blueprints to execute welding tasks accurately.

    + Conduct preparation and fabrication tasks before initiating welding.

    + Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure high standards.

    + Assist in other areas of the plant as needed to support production.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with MIG welding.

    + Experience with TIG welding.

    + Experience working with aluminum materials.

    + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with fabrication and production processes.

    + Ability to use a tape measure accurately.

    + Experience with grinding and other metalworking tools.

    + No formal education or certificate requirements.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is loud, requiring a strong focus on safety due to handling heavy and sharp metal materials. The facility is not temperature-controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots, jeans or pants without holes, and either long or short sleeve T-shirts. This is a unionized workplace, providing stability and growth opportunities.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
