    Job Title: Manual Pack Operator - PrePack** **Job Description

     

    As a Manual Pack Operator in the PrePack department, you will be responsible for manually packing final brick bags and ensuring the quality of each bag. Unlike Final Pack, PrePack involves manually placing bricks and pieces into bags rather than preparing products for shipment. You will also handle material handling, palletizing, and preparing full pallets for Final Pack. This role requires standing for long shifts in an assembly line format, although PrePack offers more sitting areas. There are opportunities to advance into operating and supporting the automated line, where you will maintain machines and ensure a clean work area.

    Responsibilities

    + Manually pack final brick bags and conduct quality inspections.

    + Handle material handling, palletizing, and prepare pallets for Final Pack.

    + Stand for 12-hour shifts in an assembly line format.

    + Maintain and support the automated line, keeping machines in good condition.

    + Ensure compliance with quality standards and report any issues.

    + Contribute to the flow of the production line, avoiding downtime.

    + Meet standard hourly production results.

    + Conduct line operation reporting, including TPM, 5S, QAs, and Line Release Audits.

    + Collaborate with peers, maintaining excellent communication.

    + Support changeovers, quality inspections, and machine cleaning.

    + Perform other assigned duties.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in packaging, production, and material handling.

    + Ability to perform quality inspections and adhere to quality standards.

    + Experience with assembly line and production line tasks.

    + General labor experience in a warehouse or production environment.

    + 1-2 years of experience in production or manufacturing.

    + Ability to stand for 8-10 hour shifts and perform repetitive tasks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma/GED preferred.

    + Flexibility to move between departments or shifts based on business needs.

    + Ability to continuously stand, walk, and perform physical tasks.

    + Capacity to lift products up to 33 lbs.

    + Experience in environments where performance is measured.

    + No unexplained large gaps in employment history.

    Work Environment

    Work in a very clean, state-of-the-art facility located in Colonial Heights, housing packaging operations, a warehouse, and a training center. The facility is climate-controlled with a breakroom equipped with food and drink machines. Locker rooms are available, and cell phones must be stored in lockers or cars as they are not allowed on the production floor. The warehouse aisles are approximately 12 feet wide, requiring candidates to learn spacing before operating any equipment.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.15 - $19.15/hr.
