    Job Description

    As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery and equipment. This role involves conducting regular inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing issues to ensure smooth operations. You will collaborate with various departments to improve processes and maintain a safe working environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.

    + Perform preventive maintenance tasks that cannot be assigned to operators.

    + Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions.

    + Discuss machine operation variations with supervisors, manufacturing engineers, or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machinery.

    + Dismantle defective machines and equipment, and install new or repaired mechanical and electrical parts.

    + Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

    + Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

    + Lay out assembly, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

    + Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

    + Work with Facilities Manager, manufacturing engineering, and supervisors to ensure operations are performed safely.

    + Assist manufacturing engineering in improving process and quality of existing or new equipment.

    + Participate in the pre-acceptance and acceptance of new machinery.

    + Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers.

    + Set up and operate machine tools like lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.

    + Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with changeovers/setups on machinery and products.

    + Plastic field experience is a plus.

    + PLC troubleshooting is a plus.

    + Experience as a process technician.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is manufacturing-based, with conditions varying depending on the building. Some areas are hot during warm weather and cold in cooler months. The facilities include a mix of old and new machinery, and maintenance technicians should be prepared to work in both clean and less tidy environments.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
