Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled **Conveyor Mechanic** to join our maintenance team at our state-of-the-art distribution center. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and both minor and major repairs on material handling equipment, including AutoStore systems. The position also involves coordinating with external contractors and vendors to ensure the smooth operation of building systems and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and AutoStore equipment.
+ Inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and lubricate bearings and seals.
+ Diagnose and repair or replace defective mechanical components.
+ Coordinate with contractors and vendors for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of building systems.
+ Complete maintenance checklists and maintain accurate records of procedures.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain HAZMAT documentation and records.
+ Respond promptly and professionally to management and internal customer inquiries.
+ Research and resolve facility operational issues.
+ Operate computer systems controlling mechanical and utility equipment.
+ Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
+ Obtain cost estimates for supplies and repair parts; order parts as needed.
+ Recommend improvements to maintenance programs.
+ Safely operate powered lift equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
+ Perform custodial duties such as snow removal when required.
Required Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ 2–6 years of maintenance experience, including proficiency with hand and power tools.
+ Ability to operate warehouse equipment; Lift Operator Certification required.
+ Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
+ Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
+ Proficiency in basic arithmetic and ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
+ Reliable attendance with flexibility to work overtime, including weekends.
Preferred Skills & Experience
+ Experience with electrical motors, hydraulics, and PLC control systems.
+ Familiarity with industrial maintenance, repair procedures, and service schematics.
+ Ability to perform general maintenance and janitorial duties.

Work Environment
+ Fast-paced warehouse/distribution center setting.
+ Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and lifting/moving items up to 60 lbs.
+ Regular operation of powered equipment and use of protective gear as required.
+ Moderate noise levels with constant activity near conveyor systems and moving parts.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Ashland, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $68640.00/yr.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.
