    Job Title: Technician** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a versatile carpenter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report to the office daily, receive project assignments, gather necessary tools and materials, and travel with a team to various job sites to carry out carpentry work. This role involves diverse tasks with a focus on installing windows and doors, trimming, installing hardware, framing, deck work, cabinet installation, and remodels. No driving of company vehicles is required as you will travel with a crew.

    Responsibilities

    + Install windows and doors, which comprise the majority of daily tasks.

    + Trim out windows and doors and install hardware.

    + Frame rooms and perform some deck work.

    + Install cabinets and perform remodel/tenant improvement work.

    + Ensure job site cleanliness and proper packing up of materials post-completion.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in reading and using a tape measurer.

    + Ability to measure and cut materials accurately.

    + Experience in trimming out windows and hanging doors.

    + 2+ years of general carpentry experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Finish carpentry, millwork, drywall, and cabinetry skills.

    + Ability to read blueprints.

    + Valid driver's license is strongly preferred; CDL A is ideal but not necessary.

    + High level of professionalism on job sites.

    Work Environment

    The team operates from two offices and consists of around 100 individuals, including inventory, office personnel, runners, framers, installers, and management. You will report to the South office and join a carpentry team of 8, tackling 2-3 sites daily. Projects vary in duration, from a single day to a month, depending on client needs. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional Saturdays. During busy periods, hours may extend from 6:00am to 5:00pm. Dress code includes jeans, t-shirts, and provided high visibility gear, with tennis shoes or boots acceptable.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grimes, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
