Job Title: Service Technician** **Job Description
The Service Technician plays a critical role in supporting our mission of delivering reliable, high-quality plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and water systems solutions. This position is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment at customer facilities throughout Michigan. The Service Technician serves as a trusted technical resource and represents our commitment to safety, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
+ Perform inspection, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, including pumps and pumping systems, hydronic and plumbing systems, HVAC and mechanical room equipment, and water pressure boosting and fire protection systems.
+ Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues and implement effective corrective actions.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
+ Provide on-site technical support to contractors, facility owners, consulting engineers, and end users.
+ Complete detailed service documentation, reports, and recommendations accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable codes and regulations.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system conditions, repair options, timelines, and preventive maintenance recommendations.
+ Support warranty service requests and coordinate with manufacturers as needed.
+ Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current on equipment, controls, codes, and industry best practices.
+ Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, and project teams to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term system performance.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanically inclined with the ability to use hand tools and power tools, and knowledge in HVAC and plumbing.
+ Comfortable working on construction jobsites with the ability to wear PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hat, glasses, and hi-vis gear.
+ 3+ years of experience in HVAC or plumbing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Electrical experience, particularly with motor leads, is a plus.
+ Experience in construction, field service, hydraulics, electrical repair, and troubleshooting is advantageous.

Work Environment
The role involves traveling within a radius of locations including GR, Kalamazoo, Jackson, TC, Muskegon, Berrien Springs, and rarely Detroit. Work hours are from 7 am to 4 pm, starting at the office. Expect 1-3 jobsite visits per day, primarily indoors in mechanical rooms. There is no on-call requirement. Steel-toed boots are required, while hard hats, HiVis gear, and glasses will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
