    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Mechanic, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment in a heat treat shop. This position involves both preventive and reactive maintenance of furnaces, water towers, and other essential machinery. Must have previous experience with hands on mechanical repairs.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on furnaces, water towers, and other shop equipment.

    + Conduct electrical maintenance, including motor, wiring, and switch repairs.

    + Handle mechanical maintenance tasks such as pump teardown and rebuilds.

    + Perform simple hydraulic and plumbing fixes, including valve repairs.

    + Maintain pneumatic and HVAC systems, including air lines, filters, and moisture traps.

    + Capture images and document completed tasks using a tablet.

    + Familiarize yourself with blueprints and schematics for daily use.

    + Ensure general cleaning and organization of the production floor, maintaining cleanliness after each task.

    Essential Skills

    + Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

    + Familiarity with blueprints and schematics.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

    + Mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Willingness to work in a hot environment, especially during summer months.

    + Desire to learn and grow with the company.

    + Comfortable working in a team that engages in friendly banter.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a heat treat shop with a warm environment, especially in the summer. The shop is well-organized and clean, though the work can be dirty involving oils and dust. The schedule is 1st shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Be prepared for on-call duties with a rotating team of three individuals, including every other weekend duty.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Granby, CT.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
