Forklift Operator

Pay: $19-$21.50

Shift- -1st Shift & @nd Shift

Responsibilities

+ Supervise the activities of painters and cleaners.

+ Handle heavy materials using a 16,000lb forklift.

+ Ensure cleaning is completed before moving materials to the painters.

+ Conduct thorough checks of painted items before they are moved for loading.

+ Move materials throughout the yard and shop, including staging I-beams and pipes.

+ Receive work orders and select all parts required, placing them on a pallet.

+ Operate an overhead crane if required.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in operating a 16,000lb forklift.

+ Experience in material handling, particularly with items weighing up to 15,000lbs.

+ Ability to balance large beams in tight spaces within the shop.

+ Strong leadership and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience operating a forklift outside of a warehouse setting, such as in a lumber yard or metal yard.

+ Ability to operate a sit-down forklift and manage warehouse logistics.

+ Certification will be provided for operating the company’s forklifts.

Work Environment

Work in an open shop environment where fabrication and welding activities take place. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions, including heat and cold. The work schedule starts at 6 am, with four 10-hour shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
