We are seeking an experienced IP & Product Security Engineer to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of intellectual property related to Cartamundi’ s collectible trading card products. This role combines legal knowledge, technical expertise, and operational oversight to prevent theft, counterfeiting, and unauthorized use of proprietary assets across both physical and digital environments.
What you’ll do as an IP & Product Security Engineer:
• Ensure IP security throughout the product lifecycle, including file transfer portals, internal databases, and production floors
• Collaborate with legal teams to investigate and respond to IP infringements
• Implement and oversee secure packaging, distribution, and authentication protocols.
• Manage the local security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection…); periodically review logs and events to identify production floor risks
• Conduct risk assessments for new product launches and supply chain vulnerabilities
• Establish and enforce security standards, policies, and best practices for product development teams, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements
• Develop and maintain security metrics and dashboards to measure and report product and platform security performance
• Be the local single point of contact/expert for all local security related matters.
• Monitor online marketplaces, social media, and forums for potential product breaches or counterfeit activity
• Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to embed security into product design and lifecycle
• Educate internal teams and external partners on IP and product security best practices
• Align with Group Product Security leadership and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead local investigations into suspected breaches, counterfeiting, or IP theft
• Coordinate with law enforcement and external agencies when required
We’re looking for an IP & Product Security Engineer with:
• Bachelor’s degree in law, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, a master’s preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IP enforcement, brand protection, or product security, preferably in consumer goods or collectibles
• Background in collectibles, gaming, or entertainment licensing strongly preferred
• Familiarity with trading cards, licensing models, and collector communities is a plus
• Experience with digital monitoring tools and anti-counterfeiting technologies
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of IP law and enforcement practices is advantageous
• Bilingual (English & Spanish)
