    Office of Indiana State Comptroller :

    The State Comptroller’s office has four main areas — Accounts Payable, Accounting and Reporting, Local Government, and Payroll. Each of these departments plays a crucial role in the functionality of state government. From paying state employees to balancing the state’s checkbook to working with local units and developing year-end financial reports, these departments and the employees within them are dedicated to accurate and transparent accounting on behalf of Hoosiers across the state.

    Role Overview :

    Summary/Objective

    The State Comptroller’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Operations Systems Analyst to run and monitor jobs in the PeopleSoft Financials system, print critical documents, and utilize and maintain mailing equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of production schedules and system performance in a structured, high-availability environment.

     

    This role requires someone who is punctual, reliable, customer-service focused, driven to meet high expectations, and has a strong desire to learn and grow in their skills and career.     The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. While this role is not on-call, occasional flexibility may be required to extend working hours in support of large projects or to address system performance issues, typically within the scope of regular business operations.

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    + Run and monitor jobs in the PeopleSoft Financials system, following documented processes precisely.

    + Monitor system outputs and error messages; troubleshoot and resolve issues.

    + Operate and perform routine maintenance on printing and mailing equipment (e.g., printers, folders/sealers, inserters).

    + Maintain inventory and evaluate new equipment and techniques.

    + Create and maintain documentation of operating procedures.

    + Provide responsive and courteous support to internal users, ensuring timely resolution of system issues and clear communication throughout the process.

    Requirements

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    + Intermediate proficiency in office productivity software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint), with the ability to create, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and collaborative content effectively.

    + Strong adherence to documented processes and operational guidelines.

    + Ability to work independently in a structured environment with minimal decision-making autonomy.

    + Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

    + Punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of integrity and accountability are highly valued.

    Preferred Experience

    + Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar enterprise financial systems.

    + Familiarity with structured IT environments and documented operational procedures.

    + Ability to create and run queries in PeopleSoft Financials or similar enterprise financial systems.

    + Experience using FTP/SFTP software such as GoAnywhere.

    + Experience with SQL and a solid understanding of relational database concepts

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports

     

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities or direct reports.

    Salary Statement :

    The salary for this position traditionally starts at 65,000 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
