Position Summary...
Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing design artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeing software design; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; directing project team and cross functional teams; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.
What you'll do...
Immigration sponsorship is not available in this role As a Principal Software Engineer on the Workforce Management team, you will guide the work of 30+ engineers designing the tools that manage and empower our international workforce. Championing EE/OE/SRE best-practices, you will accelerate several key initiatives delivering critical path code while guiding teams to scale better practices.
What you'll bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
+ Proven experience (8+ years) as a Software Engineer, preferably with a focus on Javascript based systems including React, React Native, Node, etc.
+ Experience in CICD automation including Agile delivery, feature flags, and backwards compatibility.
+ Strong experience with performance profiling tools and techniques to identify bottlenecks in code and system components.
+ Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture and design principles.
+ Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and hands-on experience in optimizing applications for cloud deployment.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret performance metrics to make informed decisions on system optimizations.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
+ Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present performance analysis findings.
+ Ability to work independently and take ownership of performance-related tasks and projects.
+ Certifications in relevant cloud platforms is a plus.
+ Openness to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving challenges.
+ What you'll do:
+ Lead your team in performing design, code reviews, operational excellence – building for resilience, high availability, scalable and performance.
+ Create/Code/Design large, complex workforce management applications, services, and systems that are used across Walmart banners.
+ Lead in coding / design decisions across various tech stack layers, from the front-end to back-end services and the data platform.
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product, data science, and other software engineering teams to understand the business problem and draft, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems that efficiently meet those needs.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
