Job description
Summary:
The CMM Technician / Programmer is responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)and Cadence Microview to inspect precision parts and assemblies, as defined by Management. This role ensures products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements by performing dimensional inspections, analyzing measurement data, and supporting continuous quality improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Program and operate CMM and Microview equipment to inspect parts and assemblies
• Ensure Revision control of each modification to programs in both the CMM and the Cadence Microview
• Develop, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs (offline and/or online)
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and specifications
• Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections
• Analyze inspection results and document findings accurately
• Identify nonconforming conditions and support root cause analysis
• Calibrate and maintain CMM and microview equipment and inspection tools
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Maintain inspection records and ensure compliance with quality systems (ISO, AS9100, etc.)
• Support audits and customer inspections as required
• Must be familiar with statistical process control methods and data analysis methods

Candidate skills & requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred)
• Must have strong knowledge of metrology principles and measurement techniques, including part alignment, part fixturing and vision-system probe setup
• 3 years of proven experience as a CMM Operator and/or Programmer
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• 3 years experience Micro-view or equivalent vision-based software
• 3 years of experience with software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, Modus, etc
• Ability and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems
• Experience in an aerospace industry is a plus
• Ability to train other inspectors
• Ability to work overtime as required
