Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual (AV) Hardware Technician to support and maintain our AV hardware/infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, patching, troubleshooting, and replacing AV equipment across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of AV control and audio systems including AMX, Q-Sys, Biamp, Shure, Extron, Cisco, Poly, and video wall panels.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform routine maintenance, patching, and repairs on AV systems and equipment. Maintain current firmware versions.
+ Diagnose and resolve hardware issues for AV components, including control systems, DSPs, microphones, amplifiers, video conferencing devices, and video wall panels.
+ Oversee and execute the replacement of defective or obsolete AV equipment and components as necessary. Return merchandise authorization.
+ Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of AV systems.
+ Support AV installations, upgrades, and system expansions.
+ Collaborate with IT, Facilities, and external vendors to coordinate AV projects and repairs.
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory of AV hardware. (ServiceNow)
+ Deliver technical support and training on AV equipment operation, including user assistance with connecting to MS Teams and Zoom meetings and guidance on collaboration space technology.
+ Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and best practices for AV hardware.
+ Travel to remote offices to support AV equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
+ Work with regional offices to remotely to perform preventative maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience:
+ Candidates must have a Bachelors degree and 4+ years of related experience
+ Candidates must be permanent residents of the US with a valid green card or US citizenship.
+ Hands-on experience with AV control systems and hardware, including:
+ AMX
+ Q-Sys
+ Biamp
+ Shure
+ Extron
+ Cisco video conferencing hardware
+ Poly video conferencing hardware
+ Video wall panel replacement and maintenance
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to read and understand AV system schematics and diagrams.
+ Proficiency in hardware patching, device configuration, and firmware updates.
+ Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
+ Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ AV industry certifications (e.g., CTS, AMX, Extron, Biamp, Q-Sys, Shure, Cisco, Poly).
+ Previous experience in a corporate or enterprise AV environment.
+ Familiarity with AV networking and integration.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to lift and carry AV equipment (up to 50 lbs).
+ Willingness to work in various environments (conference rooms, auditoriums, etc.).
+ May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for urgent repairs or installations.
Compensation Ranges
Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
