Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Promptly welcome and greet guests.

+ Take beverage and food orders from the lobby bar menu.

+ Check identification of guests to verify age for purchase of alcohol.

+ Be attentive to guests, anticipating their requests.

+ Help with set up at the beginning of each shift.

+ Collect payment for drinks and food served and balance all receipts.

+ Thorough knowledge of beverage products, menus, and promotions.

+ Responsible service of alcohol. Know when it is necessary to stop serving a guest.

+ Handle guest complaints quickly and quietly. Know when to involve supervisor.

+ Act as bus person when needed.

+ Be willing to help other servers as need arises.

+ Have knowledge of all hotel facilities, services, and hours of operation.

+ Have knowledge of entertainment and special events scheduled in the hotel.

+ Adhere to the hotel’s dress code policy.

+ Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Skills & Experiences

+ Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling.

+ Strength – sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects like barrels and crates up to 50lbs (23 kg).

+ Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths.

+ Flexible – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.

+ Experienced – you’ll know how to prepare a wide range of drinks. Ideally with formal bartending training.

+ Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling and serving alcohol, you’ll be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language.

+ Articulate – a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
