The Minnesota POST Board is looking for their next Standards Coordinator. This position conducts reviews of law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with POST Board rules, policies, and statutes. Additionally, this position investigates alleged violations of peace officer standards of conduct, minimum selection standards, and unauthorized practice. This position will additionally assist state and local units of government in complying with POST Board and statutory requirements.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement after successful completion of the probationary period. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as decided by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Minimum Qualifications
+ Four (4) years of full-time work experience as a sworn peace officer in a law enforcement agency conducting investigations or compliance analysis work.
+ Demonstrated computer skills to include experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Minimum qualifications assessed during the interview:
+ Effective communication skills to clearly articulate and effectively convey information via written document, telephone, email, and the internet.
+ Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, sufficient to work on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and within deadlines.
+ Ability to think critically and evaluate information for accuracy and appropriateness.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
An associate's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field may substitute for 6 months of experience.
A bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Police supervisory and/or management experience.
+ Licensure as a Peace Officer in the State of Minnesota. License may be active, inactive or expired as long as it is in good standing.
+ Professional experience in law enforcement officer selection and background investigations.
+ Professional experience in internal affairs investigations
+ Thorough knowledge of Minnesota Statutes 13.01 to 13.90, 14.01 to 14.69, 214.10, 609.01 to 609.85, 626.84 to 626.94 and Minnesota Rules Chapter 6700.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools.
May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
Additional Requirements

This position requires an incumbent must maintain valid driver's license, and insurance, OR have other reliable transportation.
Applicants must have had no disciplinary action taken against their peace officer license or certification.
