    The Grants Project Administrator will work with the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN) at NYU Meyers to support grants and programs. This role is responsible for tracking and monitoring unit finances and managing communications for HIGN. The Project Administrator will oversee the financial management of grants and contracts, review budgets in light of actual performance and financial reports, and develop and implement marketing plans and communication processes for HIGN. This position will interface regularly with the College’s Finance, Grants, and Communications Offices.

    Responsibilities:

    Financial

     

    Manage program budgets, including planning, monitoring allocations, and overseeing journal entries to ensure compliance with University, Meyers, and project-specific policies. Review and facilitate financial transactions while upholding internal controls and assessing appropriateness based on financial status and guidelines.

     

    Reconcile project accounts, resolve transaction issues in coordination with University offices, and address funding and cost allocation concerns by evaluating expenditure patterns and requests. Serve as a central resource for procedural guidance and fiscal inquiries.

     

    Operations

     

    Provide on-going support for assigned research projects, including the coordinating meetings with groups to achieve project goals, developing timelines, outlining deliverables, and providing feedback and clarification to HIGN staff. Provide practical and economical solutions to business needs and recommend refinement and/or modification of workflows; prepare feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.

     

    Communications

     

    Develop and implement a communications strategy that strengthens HIGN’s position as a thought leader in the care of older adults. Oversee HIGN’s communications, including the monthly newsletter, social media content, and promotional materials, ensuring consistent branding and messaging in collaboration with the instructional design team and the Meyers communications office. Coordinate HIGN events with the Meyers event planning team and serve as a liaison with internal University departments and external partners. Curate content, create or coordinate design of project materials, and manage outreach efforts to enhance HIGN’s visibility and impact.

    Position Details

    This fixed-term position is expected to run from mid-January 2026 through October 31, 2026, aligned with a five-year funding line and subject to annual renewal based on continued funding. The role follows a Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule, with some flexibility, and requires at least two in-person days per week on College-designated common attendance days.

     

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the budgeted salary for this position is $74,623. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

    • Proactively identify potential problems, troubleshoot, and develop sound alternative strategies and tactics.

    • Must be motivated, proactive, and able to work independently, as well as perform as part of a team.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workplace, and Canva

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
