The Sony Audio Institute at NYU Steinhardt (the Institute) s eeks a part-time Researcher to facilitate a series of focus groups.
The Institute was created by NYU Steinhardt leadership and faculty and Sony's Personal Entertainment Business, which is responsible for Sony's professional and consumer audio business and heavily focused on its engagement and support of music and creators at all levels. The Institute serves as a dynamic hub where students can connect classroom learning with real-world music industry experience.
The Institute is planning a series of focus groups to collect feedback on NYU students’ experiences using audio products in the process of music creation. The part-time Researcher would collaborate with Institute leadership to plan and moderate the focus groups, collect feedback data, and analyze the data as requested by the Institute’s leadership team. This is a part-time, temporary position of approximately 40 hours (20 hours per week for 2 weeks), and will require onsite presence at NYU’s Washington Square, New York City, campus. This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay range for this position is $45.00-$50.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
+ Master’s degree required, doctoral degree preferred, in music business, music technology, or a related field;
+ Experience with in-person data collection;
+ Facility with qualitative data analysis; and
+ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
