    WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

    + Lead planning and execution of large lab expansion and remodeling projects to increase lab capacity and velocity.

    + Direct the activities of lab technicians and/or interns as needed to increase efficiency of lab.

    + Assume ownership of lab equipment purchasing, installation and regular maintenance and calibration program.

    + Develop and maintain equipment operating procedures and train lab technicians and Engineering team on safe use of equipment.

    + Research and develop test protocols and lab work instructions (SOP’s) to test nVent products using relevant test standards.

    + Hands on involvement in requirement analysis, test case design, test data preparation, and test execution.

    + Assist lab technicians with diagnosing product testing or test equipment failures.

    + Working in an 3rd party accredited test laboratory with a team of skilled Lab Technicians and Design Engineers.

    + Responsible for staying up to date with relevant engineering/ testing standards.

    + Ensure accuracy and consistency of test data with a goal of zero defective results.

    + Conceptualize and analyze test setups, methods and conditions based on specific needs of customers.

    + Implement scheduled evaluation (PM and calibration) of test equipment used for various environmental conditions.

    + Implement changes such as development of test management suite to reduce company costs with no degradation of quality.

    + Identify, assess and actively lead lab risks and/or issues.

    + Assist with development and management of lab capital budgets, ensure budgets are met.

    + Responsibility to create capital expense approvals for new test equipment & test equipment repair.

    + Perform other technical job functions related to lab and/or design engineering as needed.

    YOU HAVE:

    + Bachelor's degree Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.

    + 4 years' experience preferred, in industry and a similar role.

    + Strong mechanical and electrical competence, enjoys hands-on work as well as lab equipment programming work assignments.

    + Prior experience in ISO 17025 certified lab environment required.

    + Detail-oriented work habits capable of making observations and communicating them verbally or in writing to internal stakeholders.

    + Methodical and focused approach to document test system wiring diagrams, use instructions, flow maps of key lab processes and troubleshooting diagrams.

    + Competency with test systems software (for example, LabVIEW) and able to contribute to test algorithms.

    + Excellent data analysis and troubleshooting skills to resolve test equipment anomalies and the knowledge to discern the best course of action considering regulatory compliance and repair costs.

    + Experience with test equipment calibrations to comply with accreditation requirements.

    + Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 17025 quality systems and auditing processes.

    + Working knowledge in PID’s and programable logic controllers preferred.

    + Shall be familiar with mechanical manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques.

    + EPA 608 certification required or should be willing to obtain one within 3 months of start date.
