    Job Description

    Who will you be working with?

     

    L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries.

     

    How will you make a difference?

     

    As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive production efficiency and equipment reliability through strategic maintenance leadership and innovative engineering solutions. You’ll support plant operations by improving processes, reducing downtime, and leading maintenance initiatives. This role reports directly to the Production Engineering Manager with regular updates on performance and reliability metrics.

     

    What do we want to know about you?

     

    + Must have the skills to prepare a wide variety of engineering and maintenance reports and documentation.

    + Understand and interpret policy, procedures, and technical documentation.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

    + Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.

    + Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.

    + Work effectively with fellow employees and independently.

    + Dependability under both supervised and unsupervised conditions; strong interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug, and background test.

    Minimum Qualifications for Application:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

    + Experience with MS Office products

    + CAD Software Experience (SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

    + CMMS Software Experience (MaintainX)

    + Familiar with ERP Systems

    + 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

    + Project Management Experience.

     

    What will your typical day look like?

     

    + Develop sustainable manufacturing practices aligned with safety, ergonomic, and environmental standards.

    + Design and implement equipment improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce labor.

    + Manage capital projects from approval through implementation.

    + Oversee maintenance programs and lead root cause analysis for equipment issues.

    + Identify and implement automation opportunities specific to the Yankton facility.

    + Direct the Maintenance Department, including scheduling, training, and performance management.

    + Coordinate with vendors for repairs, upgrades, and service agreements.

    + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.

    + Communicate effectively across all organizational levels and lead team collaboration.

    + Travel domestically and internationally as required; occasional weekend work may be necessary.

     

    What about the physical demands of the job?

     

    + Shop Floor Presence Required

    + Facilities can produce warm/hot conditions

    + PPE Required: Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and gloves.

     

    You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The salary rate for this role is currently $67400-96000 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
