    Sustainability Intern

     

    The City of Bangor is seeking a motivated university student for a Spring 2026 internship supporting sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate action initiatives. This position provides practical, applied experience that complements academic programs across engineering, environmental sciences, climate studies, planning, data analytics, public policy, and related fields. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a local government setting and contribute directly to your community,

     

    Working closely with City staff, the intern will assist with research, analysis, and project development in areas that help reduce municipal energy costs, advance climate goals, and improve long-term community resilience. Hours are flexible to accommodate academic schedules.

     

    The internship is designed for the Spring 2026 semester (approximately 16 weeks). If funding allows, the position may be extended into Summer 2026. For more details, please see a job description here:Sustainability Intern Job Description

     

    This is a temporary paid internship at $20 per hour. Academic credit may also be arranged. Applicants must be enrolled at a local college or university during the Spring 2026 semester. The anticipated schedule for this position is 10–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling around classes and exams.
