    Overview

     

    TAs the Supervisor of Maps and Records at Rhode Island Energy you be responsible for the daily supervision and organization of employees, providing front line leadership for the collection of data and input of and support gas business operation for RI Energy. #INDRIE #RIE

    Responsibilities

    + Direct supervision of company bargaining unit personnel involved in the collection and input of mapping data. Assuring a safe work culture, driving performance, coaching, mentoring, training and overall development of the workforce.

    + Manage and assign bargaining unit personnel to process pertinent main and service data for entry into company electronic mapping and database systems.

    + Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.

    + Maintain safety as highest priority by promoting our safety goals and procedures, which includes regular safety and observation audits.

    + Generate, develop and update necessary reports and metrics for the department. Other priorities as directed by the Manager.

    + Support RI Energy during emergency conditions as needed/ directed.

    + Support and assist the GIS Specialist during day to day and emergency situations.

    + Support the necessary GIS related trainings in the business.

    + Participate in GIS transformation and acts as business partner for the Maps and Records in PPL, including PA and KY.

    + Participate in meetings to support the operations of the department and the business.

    + Effectively communicates with all levels in the company by blending appropriate levels of technical and business detail to ensure issues are thoroughly understood.

    + Support a formal “Storm Role” in the Distribution Operations business in events of large storms or major outages.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree in GIS or engineering or labor relations discipline or equivalent work experience on a year for year basis.

     

    Demonstrated supervisory skills necessary to direct, motivate, instruct and develop bargaining unit personnel in the operation and maintenance of electronic and manual mapping and information systems

     

    Strong computer skills, strong communication skills and written skills required and the proven ability to act in a leadership role and coordinate multiple disciplines through project initiation and execution.

     

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in a supervisory or drafting capacity is preferred

     

    Knowledge of federal, state and municipal codes and regulations and company standards and policy

     

    Possess sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

    Valid driver’s license required

    Remote Work

    The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
