    Custom Job Purpose:

    This position exists to perform responsible advanced and specialized work maintaining the budgetary accounting records in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) program by processing source documents.

     

    Essential Functions of this Job

     

    Posts purchase orders, vouchers, journal entries, deposits, budgets and miscellaneous documents, using the enterprise resource planning (ERP) program. Prepares computer input. Maintains adequate stock of supplies. Analyzes records and reports. Answers inquiries regarding various types of accounts. Instructs school and department personnel regarding the use of the accounts payable system as it applies to them. Processes weekly deposit reports from cafeterias. Prepares expenditure reports for federally funded programs. Compiles carryover data for budget preparation.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices and methods with the ability to apply such knowledge to work situations. Knowledge of office procedures and methods. Skill in Microsoft Office products, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs, and other standard office machines. Ability to maintain close attention to detail. Ability to perform arithmetical computations quickly and accurately. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

     

    Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

     

    Graduation from high school or completion of GED; additional training in business courses is preferred. Considerable responsible experience in bookkeeping and accounting or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Work Context:

    Requires sitting and some standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.

    Physical Environment:

    Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
