Orange - Ulster BOCES is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Instructor to teach a course focused on a foundational understanding of HVAC systems. The class prepares students for further study and hands-on experience in the HVAC field. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm - 9:00pm.

Some duties include:

+ Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons

+ Instruct students in the basic principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycles

+ Teach operation and function of common HVAC compoentns (compressors, condensers, evaporators, air handling units)

+ Demonstrate safety procedures, proper tool usage, and trade math concepts

+ Provide an overview of system installation and maintenance practices

+ Prepare students for the EPA 608 Certification opportunity

+ Answer questions and support diverse learning styles

+ Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment

Job Qualifications:

+ 5 years' proven experience working in HVAC field

+ Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and safety standards

+ Prior teaching or public speaking experience preferred

+ Ability to communicate cleary with both novice and experienced learners

+ EPA 608 certification a plus but not required

+ Must be fingerprinted
