About the Opportunity

A Newport Beach–based boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join a sophisticated practice focused on high-stakes commercial and fiduciary disputes. The firm represents clients in matters involving sensitive financial, governance, and reputational issues.

Attorneys are expected to be deeply involved in both legal strategy and execution, with meaningful courtroom and client exposure.

Representative Matters

+ Shareholder, partnership, and control disputes

+ Trust, estate, and fiduciary litigation

+ Financial elder abuse and asset recovery actions

+ Breach of fiduciary duty and fraud claims

+ Business tort and unfair competition matters

Responsibilities

+ Lead discovery strategy, including drafting and responding to discovery and managing document-intensive cases

+ Take and defend depositions of parties, fiduciaries, and experts

+ Draft complex pleadings, demurrers, motions to dismiss, and summary judgment motions

+ Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial

+ Examine witnesses and assist in trial presentation

+ Advise clients on litigation risk, strategy, and resolution options

+ Collaborate closely with partners on case strategy and client management

Requirements

Requirements

+ 5-10+ years of civil litigation experience in California

+ Experience handling fiduciary, trust, or complex financial disputes strongly preferred

+ Excellent writing and analytical skills

+ Proven ability to manage sensitive client relationships

+ Trial or arbitration experience preferred

+ Ability to meet a ~1,800 billable hour requirement
