Description We are looking for a dedicated Foreclosure Paralegal to join our team on a contract basis in South Windsor, Connecticut. In this role, you will manage foreclosure caseloads, oversee property management, and provide legal assistance to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to handling legal documentation and communication.
Responsibilities:
• Handle a nationwide foreclosure caseload, including collaborating with foreclosure counsel and investors.
• Evaluate and determine when to delay foreclosure referrals based on borrower status, such as impending payoffs or reinstatements.
• Draft payoffs, settlement agreements, and work-out plans tailored to borrower needs.
• Supervise real estate owned property management, including approving contractor bids and overseeing related tasks.
• Provide assistance to the Legal Department by addressing internal and external requests for legal advice.
• Review and process invoices related to legal and foreclosure matters.
• Organize and manage legal documents, ensuring proper filing and record-keeping.
• Create and send written and electronic correspondence to stakeholders.
• Track and oversee collection efforts effectively.
• Maintain and update the Legal Department’s database and files, ensuring accurate organization and accessibility. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong legal research capabilities to support case management and decision-making.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Foreclosure Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• Familiarity with case management software such as Willow and/or Noteflow is advantageous.
• Knowledge of discovery, civil litigation, and trial preparation processes.
• Experience in foreclosure and litigation case management.
