Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in San Pedro, California. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The role involves managing essential financial tasks such as accounts payable, account reconciliation, and general ledger entries while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately input financial data into accounting systems to maintain up-to-date records.

• Manage weekly accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, data entry, and payment distribution.

• Reconcile bank statements and account balances to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Collaborate with the Development Office to reconcile donations, fundraising, and grant transactions.

• Handle credit card processing and employee receipt tracking, ensuring proper coding and ledger entry.

• Assist in month-end closing procedures and prepare financial reports for review.

• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to address payment issues and inquiries.

• Maintain organized financial documentation and uphold confidentiality of sensitive data.

• Generate financial analyses and reports as requested.

• Support general administrative duties, including campus supervision and front desk coverage, as needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance with a focus on detail-oriented tasks.

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to perform detailed reconciliations.

• Experience in the non-profit or independent school sector is an advantage.

• Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, team members, and stakeholders.
