Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting records. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in corporate tax, general ledger management, and month-end close processes, along with strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger accounting tasks for assigned locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.

• Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing and posting journal entries within set deadlines.

• Record accruals, allocate expenses, and execute month-end adjustments to maintain financial accuracy.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure alignment.

• Collect and analyze financial data, converting it into the general ledger system for reporting purposes.

• Maintain organized financial records by filing accounting documents and supporting materials.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure proper recording and completion of financial transactions.

• Assist in preparing monthly budget reports and conducting variance analysis for financial forecasting.

• Investigate and resolve accounting and financial inquiries by interpreting data and providing thorough explanations.

• Support the year-end audit process by compiling schedules, work papers, and financial reports. Requirements • A minimum of five years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.

• Proficiency in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and journal entry preparation.

• Hands-on experience with month-end close procedures and financial reconciliations.

• Familiarity with AS400 or similar accounting software systems.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect and interpret financial data.

• Strong organizational skills to manage records and meet deadlines effectively.

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
