    Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing invoice processing, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely payments. This position is ideal for someone who excels in data entry and has strong organizational skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.

    • Review and validate invoices to ensure compliance with company policies.

    • Maintain and update vendor files to reflect current and accurate information.

    • Handle payment processing tasks, including generating checks and electronic payments.

    • Sort and organize incoming invoice mail for proper documentation and handling.

    • Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for.

    • Collaborate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

    • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.

    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures.

    • Generate reports on accounts payable activities for management review. Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable processes and procedures.

    • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Experience maintaining vendor files and related documentation.

    • Familiarity with payment processing systems and methods.

    • Ability to handle invoice mail processing and organization.

    • Excellent communication skills for vendor interaction and issue resolution.

    • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.

    • Proficient in using accounting software and tools.
