Description

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team in Jasper, Alabama. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a small organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in key accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience managing accounts and payroll, along with proficiency in Sage Accounting Software. The schedule for this position is 8:00am-4:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. This is a fully in office position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

• Prepare and process invoices, maintaining detailed records of financial activities.

• Handle tax-related tasks to support year-end accounting procedures.

• Record and reconcile bank statements across multiple accounts.

• Organize and maintain all paperwork and bid documentation for various portals.

• Oversee collections and ensure proper handling of organizational forms.

• Deposit funds into appropriate accounts and manage multiple checking accounts.

• Process weekly payroll for a small team, including handling direct payments through banking systems.

• Prepare and file 1099s and W2s at year-end.

• Utilize Sage Accounting Software to maintain and update financial records.

Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

• Strong understanding of billing and account reconciliation procedures.

• Familiarity with payroll processing for small teams, including weekly schedules.

• Knowledge of tax preparation and year-end reporting.

• Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software.

• Ability to manage multiple checking accounts and bank statement reconciliations.

• Excellent organizational skills to maintain and track documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
