• Staff Accountant

    Description

    Our client, a growth-focused biotechnology company in San Diego, is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a passion for life sciences and a strong background in accounting to make an immediate impact in a vital and innovative sector.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.

    + Assist with preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

    + Support month-end and year-end close processes.

    + Prepare and review account analyses and support schedules.

    + Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R& D and operations, to ensure accurate cost accounting and project reporting.

    + Assist in compliance activities, such as audit prep and SOX documentation.

    + Ad-hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    + 2+ years of accounting experience; prior experience in biotech, life sciences, or manufacturing is highly preferred.

    + Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.

    + Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred.

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    + Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
