    Description

    We are looking for a dedicated Property Accountant to join our team on a long-term, part-time contract basis in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will manage accounting tasks for a diverse portfolio that includes residential, medical buildings, and shopping centers. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in property accounting and compliance, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and financial documentation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee daily accounting operations, including rent payment processing and expense tracking.

    • Maintain accurate records of account reconciliations and cash flow activities.

    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards across all managed properties.

    • Perform month-end close procedures and prepare financial statements.

    • Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Intuit, and Appfolio to manage financial data.

    • Analyze and update books annually to ensure accuracy and alignment with current standards.

    • Collaborate with team members to handle construction-related accounting tasks and tenant improvements.

    • Manage general ledger entries and accrual accounting processes.

    • Provide detailed reports on financial performance for each property in the portfolio.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.

    • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Intuit, and Appfolio.

    • Familiarity with accrual accounting and general ledger management.

    • Manage the upkeep of books and documentation.

    • Strong skills in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

    • Knowledge of compliance requirements for property management and accounting.

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

    • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with team members and stakeholders.
