Description We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This part-time role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounting processes, who excel in accuracy and enjoy contributing to financial operations. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse accounting tasks, including accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage full-cycle accounts payable, ensuring timely coding, reconciliation, and payment of vendor invoices.

• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger, maintaining accuracy and compliance.

• Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Support month-end and year-end financial close activities, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and recorded.

• Assist with special projects such as financial analysis, audit preparation, or process improvement initiatives.

• Maintain organized and thorough accounting records to ensure audit readiness and compliance.

• Collaborate with team members and work independently to complete assigned accounting tasks effectively. Requirements • Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and V-lookups.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
